The Lyceum Theatre, located in the heart of downtown’s Horton Plaza and the historic Gaslamp District, has two state-of-the-art theatres, a two level art gallery, and a lobby with a full concessions stand and intimate “Underground Stage.” Our affordable base package comes complete with volunteer ushers, a friendly and helpful box office sales staff, a master electrician, a generous sound and lighting inventory, and more!
Budget concerns? There may be a way we can accommodate! Directed by the Horton Plaza Theatre Foundation, the Lyceum offers funding assistance exclusively to our San Diego based Not-For-Profit renters, which could dramatically reduce your rent! The Lyceum could be perfect for your fundraiser, reception, lecture, fashion show, concert, play, or musical.

How to Rent the Lyceum
- Check the Lyceum Availability Calendar for the dates and venue that best suites your needs. For one-day rentals, go straight to the Lyceum Rental Request Form.
- After you’ve found your dates, go to the Lyceum Rental Request Form. Here you can request more information about the Lyceum Theatre Complex, and let the Lyceum know you’re ready to book.
- When we receive your request, the Production Coordinator will schedule a meeting with you to discuss the details of your play or event, and to go over the Lyceum’s contract and rental deadlines.
- We will then mail your contract which should be returned with your deposit within 30 days.
Please note that no dates are guaranteed until the San Diego REPertory Theatre has received a signed contract with the agreed upon deposit.
